Ditroit Taqueria hits the spot. Had the tamal of the day (raja), suadero taco, and the veggie taco with fried eggplant—super crispy and legit good. The fish flauta was fire, and the hibiscus tea is a must. The place is clean, lots of seating, and chill vibes. Dropped about $50 for the meal, and it was worth every bite. Solid spot for tacos in LA.
I really wanted to love Ditroit Taqueria since I’m a big fan of Damián and Enrique Olvera’s Mexico City restaurants. I gave it two chances — once right after they opened and again recently — but both times were disappointing. The fried eggplant taco was super bitter with a strange tasting batter, and the chicken mole tamal was dry and bland. With so many amazing Mexican food options in LA, this just isn’t worth the visit to me. I did love the palo santo agua fresca though, which I believe is also at Damián. The outdoor dining area is also very lovely as well as the team/service.
I wanted this to be better than it is. No real h9ok to the taste. Not bad, but not great. Hard to find and limited seating. The cost is high, but it's double full-sized corn tortillas. They serve adult libation so there's that.
Wow this little taco spot packs a punch!! The menu is small but everything was delicious! Try the duck carnitas taco, suedero taco, the tamale and fish flauta. Both agua frescas were fantastic as well. Churro was good but maybe less salt next time. Overall a fantastic little spot. The tortillas were excellent 🙂
Very happy. I’ve eaten at 5 Enrique Olvera restaurants and love them each…. Like I love my children. Ditroit is such a great vibe in LA and can’t wait to try Damian next.
Best taco: Suadero
Best Tamale: pepper and cheese
Loved the fish flauta, though it honestly tasted (surprisingly) a little fishy. But appreciate that it was a corn shell for a flauta. Carnitas taco was also excellent. The churro with chocolate was a family hit.
I’d love to see the suadero in the flauta. It would be epic and a best hit for Ditroit. Only other suggestion would be some hot salsa. The Green and red sauces are good…but not hot.
