I've been coming here since the 70s! When I was much younger, my friends and I would meet here for a fun evening. There was a time I ate here 3 times a week. The food is STILL my favorite authentic Mexican food around. All the newer, fru, fru designer type of Mexican restaurants don't interest me ! THIS place is legendary! I STILL love everything about this place !

Happy Cinco de Mayo!
Today, May 5th, marks the celebration of Mexico’s victory over the Second French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862—a meaningful slice of history behind the festive vibes. El Coyote was alive with music, dancing, and the kind of energy I needed to lift the gloom of a cloudy day. The food? Absolutely delicious, as always. And the complimentary shot of tequila (yes, tequila!) added just the right amount of fun. It’s definitely one of those must-visit spots if you’re craving authentic Mexican cuisine and a lively atmosphere.

Every time we come to L.A. to visit we just always eat here. The margaritas are the best and I’m from Texas. The food is amazing as well. I had the fish tacos , on point. And the ambience is nostalgic and cozy. Highly recommend El Coyote .

El Coyote was my absolute favorite restaurant in the ‘80s and ‘90s—I used to go at least three times a week! It was my go-to spot for amazing, authentic Mexican food, and I’m so happy it’s still here, serving up the same delicious flavors after all these years.

The history of this place is incredible. Since opening in 1931, El Coyote has been a staple of Los Angeles, welcoming everyone from Hollywood legends to devoted locals like me. The vibrant atmosphere, the classic red booths, and the neon glow—it all feels like home.

The food? Still as incredible as ever. Whether it’s the enchiladas, tacos, or those legendary margaritas, every bite is full of nostalgia and flavor. So glad this iconic spot is still standing strong!

This is the nicest Mexcian restaurant I have ever been. They made the best fish taco and crunchy nachos with the salsa and a good ice cream chocolate flavor. This place is a go-to visit if you are having some lunch or dinner.
