My brother took me here for the first time today and I had there Tangerine Dinosaur Salad and Vanilla Beet lemonade. Everything was yummy. The salad was reasonable for $18, it was tasty. Had a nice sweet dressing and the seeds on top tasted like warm popcorn. With the tangerine it made the salad very refreshing. The lemonade was delicious. I was not expecting it to taste like vanilla lemonade with beets! You have to try them both. Also, staff was great and everything came out at a timely manner.
1st time. A pretty new place. Small intimate. Came to see Dollface Dames Burlesque, who are there every week. Great Fun!! They only have hummus and crackers right now along with drinks, beverages.
I'm sure they will add to their menu.
Drinks were a bit weak, maybe saving on expenses right now. Giving them a break. Very nice people, great vibe.
I’m working on becoming full vegan. Let me tell you, I had the fried sweet plantain, Cesar & Arogula salad filled me up & was delicious. Top it off with a Hibiscus shaved ice for dessert!! Il never go back to a regular snow cone ever again. I felt healthy, energized and clean! So far best vegan spot in LA hands down! Affordable for quality ingredients.
Nice comfortable space. Outdoor seating is available. Special event accommodations. Easy street parking nearby.
Not a good experience, friends and I wanted to support the performers and decided to purchase a VIP couch ticket that clearly says +2 on the ticket instead of getting individual general admission tickets. Show up 30 mins early and the Manager ask for our names. We explained that we purchase a VIP couch ticket and that I was part of the +2. We could clearly see that the place was over booked and that there was not enough seats for the crowd. We were told by the manager/owner that he only had one of our names. Who buys a couch ticket at twice the price of 3 GA tickets to sit by themselves (or share with other strangers that also bought a couch ticket)? I can understand and forgive the mix up. The issue I can't forgive is we were told to hang tight and he would get us situated. We then step aside and waited only to watch him seat, take care of general admission people and literally waiter and serve drinks to other seated guest. Meanwhile no apologies on the confusion, update or reassurance that the situation was being handle. 20 mins later and the show starts and we are still standing and waiting. Literally saw the Manager/owner taking pictures of the crowd right in front of us and post on his social media to promote his place and the show. This felt like a slap in the face to us, who were still waiting. I could only count 2 other staff on hand for a fully booked sold out event. First performer takes the stage and we are still standing we decided to leave at that point. So much for VIP service or even paying for it.
For clarification I use to work for a media and event planning organization that handled much larger events than this.
My take away from this is.
1) I've been to backyard BBQs and last minute hangouts that were better planned and organized.
2)The owner seems to care more about hyping or promoting than the actual running of the event. In fact I'd assume he probably was a club promoter and trying to actually running an event.
3)I find it hard to believe anyone would 5 star this place unless they knew an employee or the owner and given Friends and Family service. Very important Person? More like Virtually Important Person we were treated like we weren't really there.
4)We have been following and supporting this dance troupe for years and sadly we will not be going to any future shows at this venue.
