The food was delicious! Everyone from my group was happy with their food options. Plus the agua frescas were so good. You can tell that they make their drinks in house. I will say tho, it took a while for us to get our food. But that's also because they were short on workers. But the 2 workers were very sweet. I would definitely come back again.
The Mog Champ sends his regards.
Nearby authentic Mexican restaurant after a long day at the nearby Anime Expo! We were able to get a table for two quite easily at 7. They served us quickly and friendly. We ordered the wet burrito, street tacos and chicken burrito.
The street tacos were delicious! A little drier than I expected however it was still fulfilling! The wait was a bit long but I had a drink ordered which kept me company with the complimentary chips. The waitress was very joyful and even cracked some jokes! Dinner was amazing, thanks El Patroncito!

Great food and warm friendly service.
I had the Asada Torta and really enjoyed it.
The owner is really friendly and you can tell that she genuinely cares about offering great food and service.
El Patroncito in DTLA is a real find.
Every time I come here, the food is consistently delicious and made with care. The breakfast burrito is huge, flavorful, and perfectly balanced.
The chicken milanesa is golden and crispy, served with rice and beans that taste just like home cooking. Comfort food at its best. I also had the chilaquiles incredible. soaked in just the right amount of sauce, topped with eggs and crema. It’s a full-on flavor bomb and definitely one of the best versions I’ve had in LA. The staff here are the heart of the place the waitresses are so kind and welcoming, it really makes the experience special. I’m seriously looking forward to when they get their beer and wine license for a glass of rosé on the patio with chilaquiles. Authentic, delicious, and full of warmth. Highly recommend.
This is the first time my fellow reviewers have let me down. I'm very disappointed in this place. To start, the place needed a sweep and a mop. The floor was very
dirty as were the tables. As for the food, the salsa was bland, and for an entree I ordered the carne asada plate, and for $20, I expected carne asada. But instead I got 2 pieces of milanesa. If you know anything about Mexican food, you know those cuts are nothing alike in taste or looks. I really hope this was only an occurrence with my plate, because charging $20 for milanesa is theft. But something tells me this is a regular occurence. Milanesa is usually around $6 or $7 a pound, and ranchera, which is carne asada, can go from $15 to $20 a pound. I let the waitress know, but I hope their management reads my review and knows that there's Mexican customers who know Mexican food and can tell what good Mexican food is. Honestly, it's probably my fault for going to Mexican restaurants. I am very critical of the cuisine I cook myself. This food was not good. To pay almost $100 for mediocre food doesn't feel great and hopefully people that read my review will go somewhere else.
