We are so happy to find we have this gem in Kissimmee! My boyfriend found them through a YouTube video and that same night we went for dinner. The best part was knowing they are only 5 minutes from our home!! I’m Nicaraguan and originally from Miami, where fritangas are everywhere. I have been in Kissimmee for 4 years now. We always had to wait to visit Miami to eat the fritanga food I grew up with. The food, WOW. Amazing and flavorful! My boyfriend finally tried a sip of my favorite childhood drink (cacao) and I was impressed with how great it tasted and he loved it too! The prices are about the same as the fritanga we frequent in Miami so while others may think it’s expensive, to us it pretty normal. The steak was sooo good and the tacos de pollo were bigger than what I expected! This was so worth it we will definitely be returning in the future! I look forward to trying their nacatamales, baho and vigoron.
My only recommendations are that you have a diet or zero sugar soda option for those that are limited to it and have the option to drink something other than water.
Also, I eventually found your instagram page but it did not match the one listed on your truck. I gave you a follow 😁
You should really consider visiting apartment complexes that schedule food trucks. Ours on Osceola parkway have different ones come by and your food should definitely be introduced to those who have never had Nicaraguan food. It would help expand your customers!!
I truly admire the chef lady, plenty rice and beans, unfortunately the appetizer I got was missing some extra ingredients to be more authentic, and my main course wasn't as good as it looks, because the meat has a large piece of gristle, very tough and chewy. the plantains were from a day before.
Finally a place where I can get authentic Nicaraguan food!!! I’ve lived and grew up in Kissimmee for 25 years and there was never a place where my culture was represented, until now. I’m proud to say that the Fritanga Managüita is a true representation of Nicaragua that makes me feel closer to my culture and native homeland. 🇳🇮💙🤍
P.S: I took the nacatamale home to eat the next day and it was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend getting it!
Very good food and service. The lady who took the order spoke English. I wanted to try the soup but they didn't have it. The wait for food after order was a bit long because the several orders were before me and some were big orders. It was raining, the tables and chairs were wet but people were filling up the place anyways. Music playing was up beat so you could dance while you wait. It was loud, though. Each order was big so people could share.
I was a regular costumer and although there have been three instances when my food and drinks were spoiled, I never wrote a review, but since it happened again today, I just want to put it out there for everyone. El vaho didn’t have palatanos maduros just platanos verdes, la yuca was super hard that you could break your teeth, and instead of meat, it was pura gordura sin carne, (just fat) and tasted weird. I go to the one in Haines City, and I used to spend between $300 to $500 every Saturday or every other Saturday. I have complained to the girls in the past, but I guess my complaints or most importantly my money don’t matter. If I could give it zero stars, I would, but unfortunately, I can’t submit the review without at least one star.
