Our first time trying their food. They were the food vendor at Mt. Lowe Brewing Co. There was a little bit of a line, but it was cool to watch them make the food in front of you.
I decided to try something different from a burrito or taco. The gentleman that took my order was super nice and helpful.
I ordered:
1. Mulitas: It's a cheesy taco sandwich, and I chose to have chorizo in it. They chopped up a chorizo sausage, not like the one you make at home. It was so flavorful and juicy. I had this with everything on it. It was a flavor explosion with each bite.
2. Quesadilla w/ asada and adobada : I had everything on it, and it was a yummy messy goodness. It's very filling.
3. Watermelon agua fresca: Refreshing and a little too sweet for me.
I can't wait to come back soon to try the vampiros. This was s Tijuanan style of food I've never had before, and it's amazing. It was reasonably priced as well. I highly recommend you to try.
This is my go to spot nearby for tacos TJ style, super casual and if you’re not wanting to sit down bc they’re only set up to stand and eat with a few tables under a tent.
Most of the meats are decent, not always as flavorful as expected unfortunately. If you go when they’re not so busy sometimes the stuff doesn’t feel as fresh/tasty. So that’s the only reason why I can’t ever give them 5 stars bc they’re not consistent.
* the staff at this outdoor stationary spot in the parking lot I’d always nice.
*** They’re CASH ONLY***
They have a Menu posted on the side for ordering:
Prices as of Feb 2025:
$3 tacos
$12 burritos
$7 large drinks
On Tuesdays: $2 tacos — it’s a deal! 🙂
Don Cuco used to be a great spot for late night cravings, but the last couple of times I’ve been, it’s been disappointing. The meat was tough. I ordered two vampiros and both had burnt tortillas. It feels like another place that made it big and now doesn’t try as hard or care. It's sad.
Great street tacos in the heart of LA. Definitely worth the drive, surely will be enjoyed by everyone. This is no restaurant setting but you’ll surely enjoy authentic tacos etc here. Out of towners come to just try this place and are amazed.
We love coming here for tacos, were always greeted with a friendly smile, and great tacos. We arrive with a smile on our face, and always leave with an even bigger smile.
