Stumbled upon this place getting gas on the way out of Los Angeles. Wide variety of snacks and drinks for grab and go. Also a nice menu to chose from. I got a bean and cheese burrito and it was delicious. There did appear to be only one person working so if there’s a longer line expect more of a wait. Great place to grab a sandwich or burrito when on the go. If I lived closer I could see this being “my spot”.
Located next to, and attached to the "76" gas station's driveway, "THE SHACK IN THE BACK" is not really a shack. It's a uniquely styled, small, contemporary coffee shop that produces really good drinks, sandwiches and salads, for which you pay a premium price.
The eatery is split in two by refrigerated display cases. The wheelchair accessible, customer side is tight. A half dozen strangers will soon became close friends. The open kitchen side is much larger.
Many refrigerator cases, which span the customer's side wall, are stocked with the usual drinks and a few high end specialty flavors. The selection of candies and treats, on the opposite wall, would make Whole Foods blush. Outside, a few wheelchair accessible tables hug the edge of the gas station's driveway. There is no inside seating.
The wheelchair accessible restrooms, located North, across the concrete pad, are part of the "76" service station. This is an upscale neighborhood, so gasoline is priced accordingly. The limited no charge parking has a single wheelchair accessible space that is located next to the bathrooms.
Very unassuming place, the food is really good. I've had 3 different sandwiches and was pleased with all 3 of them. Even the breakfast burritos are great. They don't skimp on the size of anything, you get what you pay for with this place. The bread, the cheese, the meat, the veggies: everything is fresh and high quality. They season the meat, even on the tuna melt, but it's never salty.
I would recommend to my friends and family.
Our Server Savannah at the Marina Del Rey location was/is AMAZING. She made my first time at Shake Shack memorable. I will definitely come back because of her, the food is awesome too…
Okay I only ever get a bagel here but lemme tell you, they have some good bagels. The one problem I see with this spot is the prices, everything about $1.50-$3.00 more than it should be. Almost &17.00 sandwiches before tax. I’m sorry no.
