Food was great. Pictures provided are of both the "milanesa de pollo" plate and a small plate order of beef "empanada". The empanada dough melts and the meat is very well braised also tender.
The milanesa plate is a great mix of savory and sweet (onions on top give the sweet factor). I requested extra of the onions. I also forgot to mention that the chipotle homemade sauce that accompanies the "empanada" was an incredible pair. I did not try any "postres" (desserts).
Only complaint I have unrelated to the food: suggest they buy softer napkins. The napkins provided are so rough on the skin. I came by at around 9am on a Wednesday and I suggest this time when it is not jam packed. The service is much more attentively when there are less customers. Lastly, can be a little pricey in my opinion so its not a place I would eat every week. I paid a total of $20.93 for 2 items (no drinks), in addition to tip.
Man, where can I start with this amazing little hole in the wall restaurant? Any person that I have had a conversation with that works here is amazing. Really cool, helpful, and nice. Their plates? Magnificent. My favorite is the chilaquiles in green salsa with the braised beef. The chipotle potatoes? My second. Any plate you get is PACKED with flavor. I recommend eating there and getting the food fresh. It's a whole different experience. The ambiance is great and welcoming.
Velma's was such an adorable quaint Cafe. The staff is super sweet and attentive. I ordered two of their chicken empanadas and some french fries. it was all crispy and very good. I would definitely come back to try their coffee and other foods.
Best taco place in the area. It was a nice surprise. The fish tacos are amazing as well as the creamy salsa that comes with it. I also order the pork shoulder taco and was delicious. The tacos come with fresh hand made tortillas and that's what's make all the difference in the world. Service was excellent, very affordable price too. The place is hard to find, and the outside sign is not much help. But if you like good tacos don't miss this place. Is great!
Beef birria nachos are a must! Burrito and quesadillas are single portioned but tasty. The Jalapeno penne pasta is very creamy and a little spicy. They unfortunately don't have any horchata here but their aguas are just as refreshing. Overall great hole in the wall, limited seating inside and outside, definitely recommend walking in!
